The construction work of the Inkoo compressor station, which is part of the Balticconnector project, has been completed and the construction project has been handed over. The construction ended on 30 August 2019, and from hereon commissioning procedures will be conducted at the station.
The gas pipeline and equipment of the compressor station have been filled with natural gas, and the trial run of the equipment has been started. The first runs of the electric compressor unit were conducted on 17 September 2019, and the work will continue with trial runs of the compressor unit with completion in October. The trial runs have been started on schedule, ensuring that the compressor station will be commissioned according to schedule.
“We are pleased that the construction work at the compressor station has been completed, and I’m happy to say that the trial runs have been started according to plans. We are proceeding as scheduled towards the commissioning of the pipeline by the end of 2019,” says Tom Främling, Project Director of Baltic Connector Oy.
The compressor station will be ready for gas transmission by the end of October 2019. The Balticconnector pipeline will be fully ready at the end of 2019, and gas will start to flow in the pipeline on 1 January 2020.
